Headshot of Carlos Escobedo III

I am a first generation college graduate from the Chicana/o Studies department currently in the Masters in History program with a concentration in Chicana/o Studies. As a product of Santa Ana College and the community college system I aim to one day return as faculty in Ethnic Studies. My research interests, of which most are inspired by my family’s experiences, are men’s mental health, the prison industrial complex, mentoring men of color, and the documentation of community histories through the lens of lowrider culture. Ultimately, I simply wish to impact students in the ways that my mentors have done. Mentorship changed my life.
