Immersive Experiences Lab

Come explore VR

Have you ever wanted to walk through a far away museum, attend a historical rally, visit archaeological ruins, move through outer space, or learn another language in a foreign country all from the comfort of your living room? In this hands-on lab CSUF’s Digital Literacy Librarian Colleen Robledo Greene, MLIS, will help you explore a range of Virtual Reality experiences, and the various equipment used to make these real and imaginary environments come to life. Come to play. Come to learn. Come to explore new worlds!

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • explore the metaverse
  • use both high-end and low-budget VR equipment,
  • explore a handful of VR experiences,
  • try out a free platform for VR storytelling,
  • discuss applications for integrating VR into research, scholarship, and curriculum

Professional development certificates available upon request. No equipment or prior experience is required. Lab will take place in-person in Pollak Library’s 2nd floor Innovation/Maker Space.

Facilitators:

A paragraph describing the specific details of the workshop. For example, you can include information about the workshop topics and skills the student will learn. This is a great opportunity to help the visitor get a clear understanding of the value they will gain from the workshop.
