Project:
Spicing Academia: Food and Memories in Diasporic Feminine Spaces
This project aims to bring together a group of ten female participants from CSUF who will gather ten times in their home kitchens to co-create food. Participants will draw on their diverse ethnic backgrounds, such as India, Mexico, Ecuador, Spain, Bolivia, Costa Rica, etc., to explore the meaning of food and sorority in a diasporic context. Using a digital humanities approach, the participants will document the experience via photos, videos, and oral histories. The multi-media stories based on digital documentation will transcend the conventional boundaries of written recipes, inviting audiences into a multisensory journey through a fusion of visuals, sounds, and narratives.
