Keynote Announced!

Our distinguished speaker:
Katie Kalvoda

Our dynamic keynote speaker for this year’s showcase is Katie Kalvoda, Founder & CEO of G3 Ventures, and Advance OC. Kalvoda’s work with Advance OC has transformed how communities throughout Orange County access, interpret, and harness the power of health data. And her focus on impact investments and community advocacy align with DEFCon’s mission to engage technology and innovation to positively impact and transform local communities.

Student Fellow Spotlight:

Yajaira Vilchis Alvarez

This year we’re also excited to host a student spotlight featuring recent CSUF alum Yajaira Vilchis Alvarez.
Join us for all or part of this event, which aims to celebrate new digital scholarship and community engaged work, foster collaboration, and reflect on the future of the digital humanities at CSUF and beyond.

“I am an M.A. student in Cultural Anthropology focused on diversity within the Art Industry. I love going to museums and learning about the art being presented to the public and why. I am excited to explore digital exhibitions because I have yet to be able to focus on that area with my research and how it is beneficial.”

Let’s stay in touch:

Keep up with our different projects on Instagram and the web. And reach out to connect about other digital humanities projects!
